Don’t Think of a Pink Elephant

 

What happens when someone tells you:
“Don’t think of a pink elephant.”

Instantly the image of a pink elephant comes to you mind!

So it’s just like when you keep telling yourself “I don’t want to binge eat anymore. I don’t want to binge eat anymore.I don’t want to binge eat anymore.”

Guess what’s going to happen?

You’re going to think of binge eating! Even though you are telling yourself “not to think of binge eating”.

Our subconscious mind thinks in pictures.

So in order to reverse this, instead of thinking of what you “don’t” want to happen โ€” think of what you do want to happen.

So replace “I never want to binge eat again.” or “I want to overcome binge eating.” with…

“I am a healthy eater.”
“I have control over my food.”
“I eat in small portions throughout the day.”
“I exercise for 20 minutes, 3 times a week.”
“I have a sexy body!”

Even if these things aren’t not true yet, tell yourself what you want as if you already have it.

The subconscious part of our minds doesn’t know the difference between reality and thoughts.

So if you keep believing and telling yourself the way you want to be, eventually you make those thoughts happen into reality. It’s called the Law of Attraction.

Plus, how much better do you feel saying to yourself “I eat healthy, feel thin, and look amazing.” rather than “I never want to binge eat ever again.”

Stating what you want in the positive gives you so much more peace of mind and a better attitude.
